Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem and the Gardner Family

On Wednesday, March 25, a bomb was detonated near a bus stop in downtown Jerusalem.  The device exploded as a bus was passing by.  Thirty-nine people were injured.  One, British national Mary Gardner, was killed.

According to The Herald Scotland, Ms. Gardner was in Israel for six months studying Hebrew at Jerusalem's Hebrew University for the purpose of translating the Tanakh into the Togo language of Ife.  Ms. Gardner, 59, hailed from Scotland, and was employed by the Wycliffe Society, an organization responsible for translating the Bible for cultures that do not have it in their native languages.

Many have come forward to praise the attack, but many more have publicly condemned it.  We at East Gate Sound stand with those who find this complete lack of humanity disgusting, and we pray with others in our community for the sustainable peace of this city so cherished by all of the Abrahamic religions: Jerusalem.

If you see Adonai moving and working for the safety of His people, please join us in your own community to pray and support the people of Israel.  You can also donate to Magen David Adom, Israel's volunteer emergency response service, through ARMDI here.  Magen David Adom brings medical aid to anyone - Jew, Arab, whomever - at emergency sites across Israel.

God, Help Japan!

We pray that mercy and peace will be upon those in Japan who have been devastated by today's earthquake and tsunami. My friends, hang in there! If you're in the US, you can give to the relief effort here.
